ABOUT JENNY
Jenny Green is a Glass Artist specialising in Kiln-fused Glass.
Nature, wildlife and the coastline are her greatest inspirations and she gathers her imagery when out walking her Dalmatian around the beautiful Isle of Purbeck, then transforms her ideas into fused glass designs.

As well as seascapes, she has been experimenting with coastal birds after much time spent birdwatching particularly in Studland and Arne and her current fascination is with Seahorses.

Jenny also makes a range of contemporary bowls, free standing waves & coasters decorated with geometrical designs. When the sun streams through the glass pieces, colourful shadows and patterns appear onto the surface where they sit, creating an added joyful dimension.

MY ARTISTIC JOURNEY
My passion for Glass began at Sunderland University in the late 1980’s when I studied for my BA Hons Degree in 3D Design and specialised in Glass. I taught GCSE Art and Design (alongside many other subjects) for thirteen years which was a brilliant experience and very rewarding. Since then I have returned to my love of glass and now specialise in Kiln-fused glass.
I make all my glass in my Studio (No.30) at Sandy Hill Arts, Corfe Castle, Dorset and am one of the Artists at the Boilerhouse Gallery which is on the same site. I regularly assist in the gallery and my glass is displayed and for sale there amongst a wonderful eclectic mix of Arts & Crafts by many other Artists.
I also sell my work from my studio when I'm on site and welcome visitors to pop in.
I run regular Glass Fusing Workshops at Sandyhill Arts and all details can be found on their website sandyhillarts.co.uk. I also run workshops for families or groups of friends by request.

MY TECHNIQUE
_edited.jpg)
My kiln-fused glass landscapes and seascapes are created by cutting glass into shapes and intuitively arranging, layering and fusing the pieces together in a kiln to form my design. This may take several firings, adding further pieces, powders and frits to create additional textures and depth.
My range of Bowls, Freestanding Waves & Coasters bring together my joy of colour, decorated with patterns found in geometry, nature, architecture & textiles.
It takes time to create all my pieces as precision in the geometrical design work is required in both the cutting and assembling stages. Colours and designs always vary as every piece is individually handmade and therefore unique.
Infused with jewel like colours, my glass is often decorative, sometimes abstract...always colourful
